One of the most charismatic and endearing people that we met during the BioBlitz was Pete Dawson, a bug enthusiast, who went off with member of the public for a ‘mini beast walk’. During the foray into the jungle of Blaise Castle Estate, Pete and his bunch of intrepid bug hunters came across some really interesting finds, which allowed Pete to explain how flies are better than helicopters thanks to their gyroscopic back wings.
