No, neither had I, until I came here and realised how much the city – infact the whole of human life – has changed whilst some of the ones in Ashton Court have been growing. They capture solar energy, create carbohydrates by splitting water within their leaves, and live for hundreds of years. Makes you think, doesn’t it?
